Description
We are seeking a Senior Cost Planning Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As a Senior Cost Planning Engineer, you will play a critical role in determining whether a given part/system design is cost competitive and a reasonable value for the money.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development in the automotive sector, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. You will be responsible for managing collaboration with all stakeholders to gain consensus on part-by-part cost estimates, tracking cost maturation in real-time, identifying gaps, and addressing them through follow-up discussions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing collaboration with stakeholders to gain consensus on part-by-part cost estimates
- Tracking cost maturation in real-time and identifying gaps
- Analyzing and assembling data to construct materials to support proposals or arguments
- Comparing Honda parts' Cost/Performance positioning vs. other OEM competitors
- Performing benchmarking of the competitive field and studying the functionality and cost effectiveness of similar solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in product development in the automotive sector
- Demonstrable technical expertise in part materials and manufacturing processes
- Advanced CATIA skills for construction, layout, and proposal making
- Good Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills for analysis, reporting, and presentations
- Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment
