As a Staff Backend Engineer, you'll work in a squad alongside product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, writers and more! You'll build and support a particular part of Monzo.
Our engineering teams use a range of tools and technologies, including:
- Go for application code
- Cassandra for persistent data storage
- Kafka for asynchronous message queue
- Envoy Proxy for RPC
- Kubernetes and Docker for scheduling and running services
- AWS for infrastructure
- React for internal web dashboards
You'll collaborate across disciplines to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers. We're looking for someone with strong experience working on the backend of a technology product, a product mindset, and experience with strongly-typed languages.
We offer a salary of £130,000 - £170,000 + Equity, as well as benefits including flexible working hours, a learning budget of £1,000 a year, and relocation support.
The interview process involves three main stages: Initial Call, Take home task or pair coding exercise, and Final interview including a system design and a behavioural interview.
