Staff Platform Manager, Conversational Products

We are seeking a Staff Platform Manager, Conversational Products to join our Product Management team at Airbnb. As a Platform PM, you will imagine the ideal end-state for our community, work backwards from it, and deliver it in a scalable way.

The AI Assistant team owns the agentic AI system that powers Airbnb's support experience for millions of guests and hosts. You will own the platform that determines how our AI Assistant reasons, retrieves, and responds.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting the product direction for how the assistant reasons and responds
• Working fluently with production data to explore, validate, and analyze results
• Building new capabilities end-to-end, from spotting the need to hands-on work
• Deciding what a correct, complete resolution looks like for each kind of user problem
• Defining what success means in measurable terms
• Owning launch readiness for major model and platform changes
• Diagnosing why a complex AI system is failing and judging where the fix belongs
• Owning the evaluation strategy, including LLM-based evaluators and offline and live-traffic evaluation
• Bringing teams with different perspectives to a shared answer and setting agreements with partners
• Presenting to leadership regularly

Requirements:

• 9+ years building technology products, with at least 5 in product management or a closely related technical role
• Direct experience shipping generative AI or ML products to production
• Hands-on technical depth, including reading and debugging prompts and understanding ML and engineering constraints
• Data fluency, including working directly with production data and validating analysis
• Depth in LLM evaluation, including designing, calibrating, or certifying automated model-based evaluations
• Strong sense for great user experience, including how latency, tone, and trust shape an AI interaction
• Comfort owning an ambiguous, cross-cutting mandate that spans several teams' focus areas
• Track record of scaling impact through others and strong executive communication

This is a remote-eligible role, and the base pay range is $200,000-$240,000 USD per year.
