Staff / Senior Software Engineer, Security Fusion Platform

Job Overview

You will be a Staff / Senior Software Engineer on the Security Fusion Platform team at Anthropic, a company focused on creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. You will build and own the platform that analysts use to monitor and respond to physical security signals from data centers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the event bus and normalized event schema
• Develop correlation and alerting systems
• Create classification and analytics pipelines
• Build analyst interfaces, including queues, dashboards, and video integration
• Ensure audit evidence and compliance
• Implement metrics and self-monitoring
• Deploy across multiple sites
• Define compute resources and specify requirements for vendors

Requirements

• Experience building and running event-driven backend systems
• Proficiency in a backend language (Python, Go, Rust)
• Experience with message buses or event streaming systems (Kafka)
• End-to-end ownership of a system
• Integration with external systems
• Vendor management experience
• Design for failure and testing
• Building user-centric tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with security operations platforms
• Machine learning or computer vision experience
• PSIM or VMS integration experience
• Evidence production for auditors
• AI-assisted development tooling experience

Logistics

• Annual salary: $320,000 - $405,000 USD
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Relevant field of study
• Hybrid work policy (at least 25% office time)
