Development Director

Electronic Arts is seeking a Development Director to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of tools that support live operations and feature development for EA SPORTS FC Mobile in Shanghai, China.

As a Development Director, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of tools that support live operations and feature development
• Defining and prioritizing product backlogs for tools such as live ops automation systems, content configuration pipelines, and productivity-enhancing utilities
• Monitoring progress, resolving blockers, and ensuring delivery of high-quality tools
• Acting as a bridge between internal customers and the tools development team to gather requirements, define clear specifications, and ensure tool features align with user needs
• Conducting regular reviews, demos, and feedback loops with partners to drive continuous improvement
• Working with engineers to ensure technical feasibility implementation of tools and participating in solution design discussions
• Identifying opportunities to optimize development pipelines and operational workflows through tooling and advocating for automation and data-driven solutions to improve productivity

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in project management within the game industry, with at least 3 years working directly on game tools development
• Technical background, with familiarity in tools architecture, backend systems, and live operations workflows
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin (both verbal and written)
• Passion for games, with an interest in soccer being a plus
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and version control systems
• Experience with live ops content delivery workflows and configuration systems
• Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal
• Understanding of database management and API integration for tools development
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
