Description
Electronic Arts is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and collaborative legal specialist intern to join the Approvals team. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis in Los Angeles, CA, and report to Marketing Counsel.
The Legal Specialist Intern will partner with Product Counsel and Specialist Counsel to support game development teams on legal issues such as content clearance, trademark clearance, in-game advertising, and reviewing specific game features. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and approving consumer-facing product and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Helping maintain and develop internal guidance and policies relating to marketing compliance
- Preparing rules and disclosures for promotions, including contests, sweepstakes, tournaments, and promotional offers
- Reviewing registration, marketing, and promotional materials related to Competitive Gaming tournaments and other live events
- Performing trademark searches, content clearance research, or other legal research as needed
The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with a strong interest in intellectual property, media, technology, product development, or interactive entertainment. Prior professional experience in an office environment, corporate setting, or legal department is highly valued.
In terms of compensation, interns in California are eligible for a salary range of $23 - $45 USD, depending on location. Additionally, interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
