Description
Electronic Arts is seeking an experienced Generalist Software Engineer for its EA SPORTS NHL franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia. The successful candidate will work on improving scalability across platforms in the Modes area, focusing on developing and extending features in the game to facilitate user experiences.
As a Modes engineer, you will:
- Develop and extend offline and online features
- Implement a feature's core logic and flows
- Monitor and address performance and stability impacts of features
- Work with designers to gather requirements and propose technical solutions
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and report to a team lead
- Support functionality across platforms
- Update technology, tools, and frameworks to accommodate each platform
- Ensure features are performant on different hardware
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficiency with software engineering principles and architectural design
- Experience with testing, debugging, and performance optimizations
- Knowledge of client-server architectures, multi-threaded applications, and database technologies
- Experience developing on multiple platforms
- 3+ years of C++ software development
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools
This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid work model, requiring three days of in-person collaboration and two days at home.
The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $104,500 - $142,800 CAD per year.
