The Anti-Cheat Operations Engineer works within EA Security's Secure Platform Engineering & Anti-Cheat Response (SPEAR) team. The primary goal is to monitor the environment of EA's games using an internal anti-cheat solution, ensuring fair and fun experiences for players.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor anti-cheat operations dashboards
- Investigate suspected cheating activity
- Gather threat intelligence to support anti-cheat and user-generated content protection
- Perform triage and investigations of enforcement appeals
- Collaborate with engineers to improve detection quality
- Plan and prioritize anti-cheat operations and investigation tasks
- Communicate task progress and blockers to the team
- Write concise documentation on anti-cheat operations
- Identify needs and improvements to current anti-cheat processes
- Develop technical skills in the anti-cheat space
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience as a SOC Tier 1 analyst with SIEM technologies
- Knowledge of the gaming industry's cheating problem
- Basic understanding of operating system fundamentals
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics to various audiences
- Identify knowledge gaps and seek resources to close them
- Handle potentially malicious software safely
- Quickly pick up new technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Security
- Information Security certifications
- Experience building automation tools
- Reverse engineering or anti-cheat/anti-malware development experience
