Functional Safety Engineer

At Ford Motor Company, you will shape the safety of next-generation vehicles as a Functional Safety Engineer. You will collaborate with a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team to define safety for the software-defined vehicle era.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS)
• Produce safety analysis (DFMEA, FTA, DFA, per ISO 26262)
• Support the planning of Safety Verification & Validation activities at different levels of system abstraction
• Support the creation of test cases (DVP), their execution, and evaluation of the results
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, software, and V&V stakeholders to deliver a safe product with a comprehensive safety case

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering or related degree
• 5 years of experience in Functional Safety
• 5 years of experience with products in mass production
• 2 years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering

Salary:

• Salary grade 6: $74,300-$124,500
• Salary grade 7: $86,600-$144,900
• Salary grade 8: $99,100-$156,200
