Description
The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Tech II Shipboard Installer at its Chesapeake, VA office. This role involves using experience to help the ILC mission, which conducts maintenance, modernization, and installation of ASW sonar systems.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret ship installation drawings
- Plan cable routes and runs
- Conduct WAF/TUMS/Lockout/Tag-outs
- Perform cableway inspections
- Install and remove cableways, equipment, and cables
- Open and close MCTs/MCPs, and complete associated documentation and testing
- Terminate cables, make hardwired connections, and fabricate connectors
- Test cables for continuity and megger testing
- Manage cable and cableway installation, dressing, banding, and tagging
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures
- Complete required documentation, OQE, and paperwork
- Mentor junior team members on safety, workmanship, and best practices
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3 years of direct experience in field installation projects
- Fiber Optic cable handler certified to 8477552A
- Fiber Optic Connector qualified
- Copper Connector Qualified Mil Standard
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Valid Passport
- Connector Fabricator Qualified (Copper and/or Fiber)
- OSHA 10
- VSRA
Clearance:
- Ability to maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Salary Range: $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
