Description
We're seeking a Base OS Engineer to work on enabling Vera within Linux distros such as Ubuntu, RedHat, and SLES, and supporting internal validation teams of Vera MGX systems.
Responsibilities:
- Enable Vera within Linux distros such as Ubuntu, RedHat, and SLES
- Support internal validation teams of Vera MGX systems
- Work closely with external partners and customers to enable their preferred kernels and distros on MGX platforms
- Partner with Hardware and Firmware development teams to bring up new NVIDIA platforms
Requirements:
- BS or Masters in computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent C and Python programming skills
- Familiarity with at least one major Linux distro (Ubuntu, RedHat, SLES)
- Knowledge of OS concepts such as filesystems, job scheduling, device drivers, and storage
- Excellent communication and planning skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of virtualization concepts such as device passthrough and SR-IOV
- Background in PCIe, USB, and similar low-level protocols
- Experience with UEFI and BMC firmware
- Having written software in GitHub with exposure to the open-source development life cycle
- Experience with complex system-level debugging
