The Rocket Motor Systems team at Anduril Industries is seeking a Safety Equipment Engineer III to join their team in McHenry, MS. The successful candidate will help ensure automation equipment is designed, validated, and operated to the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support machine safety efforts for manufacturing and process equipment at Anduril's Solid Rocket Motor production facility in McHenry, MS
  • Serve as a safety resource during design, commissioning, and validation of automated/semi-automated production equipment
  • Conduct hazard analysis/risk assessments and support safety buyoff for equipment including conveyance, robotics, process equipment, and lifting systems
  • Specify and validate safety systems including E-Stops, scanners, light curtains, door interlocks, and other relevant hardware
  • Investigate and provide corrective actions for equipment safety failures or workplace injuries
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for production equipment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics/Controls, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
  • 2+ years of machine safety experience in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of selection, integration, and validation of safety hardware
  • Familiar with machine safety standards such as ISO 12100, ISO 13849, and ANSI B11
  • Familiar with CAD packages including NX, Solidworks, or AutoCAD
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of machine safety experience in a production environment
  • Functional Safety certification (TUV Rheinland, TUV SUD, or CMSE [TUV NORD]), or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing
  • Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and safety committees
  • Experience with energetic or other highly hazardous production processes

Salary Range: $100,000-$147,000 USD
