Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist in FICC Technology.

Principal responsibilities:

• Analysis, design, develop and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements
• Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing and provide support on system implementation
• Ensure high-quality standards of deliverables according to HSBC standards and best practices
• Prepare project-related documentation and ensure compliance and audit policies are strictly followed
• Reduce technical risk/debt in solution proposals, system design and implementation
• Provide technical and domain consultancy and support in Commercial Banking IT
• Provide in-depth knowledge transfer and on-job training/guidance to improve team productivity
• Work closely with global and regional stakeholders on project delivery
• Maintain effective and good relationships between the business and the IT project team, managing business expectations and negotiating compromises where necessary
• Continuously upgrade and learn various technologies/applications required for successful project delivery
• Shoulder responsibilities diligently and deliver quality outputs within defined schedules and service levels

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 years' IT software development experience, strong technical knowledge and experience in Java development
• Experienced in Spring and Java 8 or above, particularly Spring Boot and Spring Boot Cloud
• Excel at experience in Java, Spring, J2EE, ReactJS, Scala, TypeScript and Vue
• Open-minded, reliable and independent, enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative
• Able to work independently and effectively under pressure, with multiple project management skills and strong problem-solving skills
• Cloud-related development experience is an advantage
• Experience with React + Redux would be an advantage
• Solid skills in DevOps processes and Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools such as Confluence, Jira and Jenkins
• Effective communication skills in written/oral English
• Understanding of HSBC API standards and security requirements is a plus
