Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style

We are seeking a Guest Advocate (Cashier) to join our team at Target. As a Guest Advocate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Job Summary: You will work as an On-Demand Team Member, which means you can choose your own schedule and pick up shifts that fit your needs. You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and complete a short-term structured training schedule to prepare you for your new role.

Responsibilities:

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by delivering on commitments such as greeting guests, helping them find what they need, and resolving issues
• Operate a cash register efficiently and accurately, while maintaining guest service and accuracy
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area, including gathering abandoned items and stocking supplies
• Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
• Adapt to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience

Requirements:

• Enjoy interacting and helping others, including guests and fellow team members
• Thrive in a fast-moving, highly active and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem-solving are key to success
• Open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times)
• Effective communication skills, including using positive language and attentive listening
• Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
• Attention to detail while multi-tasking
• Willing to educate guests and engage around products and services
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
• Work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
