Description
As a Senior Data Scientist supporting the Intelligence Data Science Team (IDST) in the SOCOM HQ Intelligence Directorate located at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL, you will work on building and shipping Python-based analytic services, creating web-based GUIs, designing automated data linking methods, and managing the full lifecycle of data processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing data-driven solutions to complex business challenges
- Utilizing advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in complex data
- Evaluating the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques
- Using predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experience, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes
- Working with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
- Designing, researching, and developing highly advanced processes
- Performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) on structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Supporting ML model development and Python-based analytics
- Assisting with API data integrations, containerization workflows, and development of Streamlit-based GUIs
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 10+ years of related experience, including academic or internship-based data science work
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Current DoW TS/SCI Clearance
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, including API development and data manipulation
- Demonstrated experience with SQL and large-scale systems such as PostgreSQL, Hive, or Trino
- Strong understanding of ML concepts and familiarity with Flask or FastAPI
