Transportation Operations Manager

Amazon is seeking Transportation Operations Managers to work in its sites across the country. As a Transportation Operations Manager, you will have complete responsibility for Transportation Operations at a number of sites within a pre-defined region.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of Transportation Area Managers to streamline logistics within each individual operation
• Ensure overall safety, quality, and performance, and customer experience of your region
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures
• Meet and exceed operational goals
• Develop strategic plans, forecast, appraise performance, reward and coach employees, resolve problems, and address staffing needs
• Mentor, train, and develop teammates for career progression and learning
• Develop and share best practices across shifts and networks
• Travel up to 50% may be required
• Flexible working hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques experience
• Experience managing a team of 2+ salaried employees and 70+ indirect employees
• Experience scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical skills
• Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
• Track record of meeting or exceeding department performance goals
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field
• Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, instrumentation, machinery, defence/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments
