Description

At Bayer, we believe work should matter. Every day, our teams push toward a future where "Health for all, Hunger for none" is within reach, and every role, from the lab to the field to the boardroom, helps us get there.

Bayer is seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a credible scientific partner to healthcare professionals across a designated U.S. territory. The role is anchored in Molecular Imaging (Cardiac Amyloidosis) while supporting compliant scientific exchange across the multidisciplinary amyloidosis ecosystem, including cardiology, hematology/oncology, nuclear medicine, radiology, and integrated amyloidosis centers.

Scientific Exchange and Strategic Relationships

  • Identify, develop, and maintain compliant, high-value scientific relationships with cardiologists, heart-failure specialists, hematologists/oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, amyloidosis-center leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct balanced, peer-to-peer scientific exchange on systemic and cardiac amyloidosis, diagnostic pathways, clinical evidence, and investigational data in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Deliver scientific presentations and disease-state education to appropriate healthcare professional and institutional audiences using approved resources.
  • Execute a territory engagement plan that prioritizes relationship depth, multidisciplinary institutional reach, and meaningful follow-up.

Field Insights and Medical Strategy

  • Gather, document, and communicate timely, high-quality insights on diagnostic and referral pathways, evidence gaps, educational needs, operational readiness, access themes, and barriers to adoption.
  • Convert field observations into clearly framed insights that can inform Medical strategy, educational planning, evidence priorities, launch preparedness, and cross-functional action.
  • Map the current diagnostic pathway and key decision points at priority institutions, including the roles of referring clinicians, imagers, readers, technologists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Use approved systems to document engagements, insights, follow-up, and territory-plan progress.

Disease Awareness and Diagnostic-Pathway Development

  • Advance scientific understanding of systemic and cardiac amyloidosis, including unmet needs associated with underdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis, and complex referral pathways.
  • Identify institution-specific educational needs and support approved disease-state initiatives, advisory boards, congress activities, and other Medical Affairs programs.
  • Engage stakeholders across cardiology, hematology/oncology, nuclear medicine, and radiology to develop a medically grounded view of how patients move through suspicion, referral, imaging, diagnosis, and follow-up.

Evidence Generation and Research Support

  • Support Bayer-sponsored research activities as appropriate, including investigator and site engagement, site identification, and scientific follow-up.
  • Identify and appropriately triage investigator-initiated research concepts and evidence gaps through established Medical Affairs processes.
  • Contribute to assigned evidence-generation, publication, congress, medical-resource, or advisory-board workstreams, with clear documentation and follow-through.

Priority-Center and Readiness Support

  • Develop a medically grounded view of priority-center readiness and identify gaps related to referral pathways, scientific understanding, readers, technologists, workflow, or infrastructure that require cross-functional follow-up.
  • Route identified readiness gaps to the appropriate accountable function and monitor follow-up through approved processes.
  • Collaborate with Molecular Imaging Specialists and other authorized partners while maintaining clear role boundaries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Compliance

  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Information, Medical Communications, HEOR/RWE, Commercial (Sales and Marketing), Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, and other relevant cross-functional partners to support Medical Affairs objectives, in full compliance with Bayer policies, SOPs, work instructions, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Support internal scientific training on disease state, diagnostic pathways, and clinical evidence as requested.
  • Complete required trainings and certifications, use approved materials and systems, escalate compliance questions promptly, and conduct all activities in line with Bayer policies, FDA requirements, OIG guidance, the PhRMA Code, and applicable laws.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $168,500 to $252,800. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
