Youth Lead In Charge – Part Time

Salary

GBP 41,511 - 43,449 per year

Apply on London Borough of Haringey

Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Hub Lead – In Charge to play a key role in coordinating and delivering high-quality youth development programmes across Haringey’s Youth Hubs and Mobile Hubs.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead a team of Youth Coaches, sessional staff and volunteers, ensuring young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) have access to safe, engaging and inclusive opportunities.

Through coaching, mentoring and positive relationship-building, you will support young people to develop confidence, resilience and life skills while helping to reduce vulnerability, exploitation and violence within the community.

You will also oversee programme delivery, safeguarding, performance reporting and the effective day-to-day operation of youth hub facilities.

You will join a passionate Early Help and Prevention team that is committed to improving outcomes for young people across Haringey.

Working alongside Youth Development Leads, Youth Coaches, volunteers and partner organisations, you will help shape innovative and responsive youth services that place young people’s voices at the centre of everything we do.

The team works collaboratively with schools, community organisations, family hubs, health services and other statutory partners to provide holistic support, empowering young people to achieve their potential and make positive choices about their future.

You will bring substantial experience within a youth work setting, including leading staff and delivering impactful youth programmes in challenging environments.

You will have extensive knowledge of youth work practice, adolescent development and safeguarding, alongside a recognised youth work qualification (or a willingness to work towards one) and GCSE-level literacy and numeracy.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and relationship-building skills who can engage and inspire young people from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will be a strong role model, capable of leading by example, maintaining professional boundaries, managing competing priorities and working collaboratively with partners to achieve positive outcomes.

Flexibility is essential, as the role requires evening and occasional weekend working to meet the needs of young people and the service.

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.

Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of up to 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
