(Senior) Systems & Testing Engineer - Post-Trade Systems (Derivatives Clearing & New Initiatives) - IT

The IT Post-Trade Systems department at HKEX is seeking an experienced Systems & Testing Engineer to develop and maintain its Derivatives Clearing systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting technology solutions, including business requirement analysis, functional specification preparation, system design and development, software quality assurance testing, testing tool development, production implementation, and ongoing production support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services for Post-Trade systems.
• Participating in system development activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Developing and maintaining automated testing tools.
• Performing unit testing, system integration testing, and supporting user acceptance testing activities.
• Investigating and resolving application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Collaborating with business users to deliver technology solutions that meet business requirements.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, deployment procedures, and support materials.
• Supporting production releases, system monitoring, and on-call activities when required.
• Contributing to system performance tuning, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT application development (SDLC), preferably within the financial industry.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, JavaScript, Python, object-oriented design principles, and database technologies on Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Selenium, Cucumber, or equivalent technologies/tools.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
