Senior Security Engineer, Incident Response

As a Senior Security Engineer on the Threat Detection and Response team at Airbnb, you will play a key role in defining and executing the company's vision for threat detection and incident response capabilities.

You will work on automating security detection, responding to security incidents, and collaborating with partner teams to build capabilities that support the incident lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing investigations of security incidents using digital forensics and data analytics
• Hunting, detecting, and responding to threats using coding, data analytics, and investigation skills
• Building automation and detection models to support identification of anomalous activity and response activities
• Working with engineering teams to build advanced detection solutions
• Identifying gaps in infrastructure and working with business partners to gain visibility through logging and detection

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, including investigations, incident response, and threat intelligence
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages, SQL, and Pandas
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch is preferred
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) is preferred
• Knowledge of the Cyber Kill Chain Framework and MITRE ATT&CK Framework

This is a remote-eligible role, and the base pay range is $196,000-$227,000 USD per year.
