Staff Software Engineer - Access Management

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Access Management team in Bellevue, WA. The Access Management team owns the access-gating systems at the core of the Databricks platform, deciding what users, applications, and automated workloads are permitted to do.

Responsibilities:

• Evolve the platform's core authorization service, critical to every access-control decision.
• Migrate and consolidate permission-checking across the platform onto a unified authorization model.
• Develop fine-grained access controls, including scoped service identities, delegated access, and role-based access control.
• Implement network ingress access policy for customer resources.
• Improve the availability and reliability of a high-throughput, low-latency authorization service.

Requirements:

• Deep expertise in access management, identity, or authorization systems.
• Strong distributed systems and security fundamentals.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on a team, ideally across multiple locations.
• Track record of designing and shipping backend services at scale.

The pay range for this role is $180,500 - $203,025 USD.
