Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

The successful candidate will assist physical therapists in treating patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physical therapists in providing patient treatment based on evaluations and plans of care
• Provide patient education, exercise, gait training, mobility and transfer skills, balance and coordination activities, and modalities
• Monitor patient response to treatment and update supervisory therapists
• Plan for patient discharge, including providing written home programs and ordering equipment
• Complete required documentation, including patient progress notes and discharge summaries
• Clean and maintain treatment areas and equipment
• Demonstrate knowledge of indications and contraindications of modalities and exercise
• Participate in performance improvement activities and pursue professional growth

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy
• Physical Therapist Assistant license issued by the state of Wisconsin
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification
• Intermediate computer skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, and squat throughout the workday
• Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead
• Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
