Description
We are seeking a Bank Outpatient Nurse to join our Outpatients team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Ilford. As a Bank Outpatient Nurse, you will play a key role in assessing patients' fitness for surgery and supporting them through the pre-operative process.
You will undertake comprehensive pre-operative assessments for surgical patients, interpreting ECGs, blood results, and clinical findings to determine fitness for surgery. You will identify risks and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical teams, provide patients with advice regarding fasting, medication management, smoking cessation, and surgery preparation, and support discharge planning and post-operative advice where appropriate.
The role is offered on a bank (0-hour) contract, with no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability.
Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration
- Minimum of 2 years' post-registration clinical experience
- Excellent clinical assessment skills
- ECG interpretation, auscultation, and blood result interpretation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy and experience using electronic patient records
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable qualifications:
- Previous Outpatients or Pre-Assessment experience
- ENB 219 qualification or equivalent
