Character Artist - EA Sports FC

We are seeking a Character Artist to join our EA SPORTS ART team, which is a global community of content creators covering Characters, Environments, Lighting, Project Management, Technical Art, and Visual Effects.

The Character Artist plays a crucial role in top-tier video game creation, specifically creating the cast of characters that populate the game universe. As a Character Artist, you will be responsible for designing and creating 3D models, textures, and materials for characters and accessories.

Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality 3D models, textures, and materials for characters and accessories
• Work with scan data, photo references, or traditional 3D means to create character models
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure consistency and quality of character assets
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in character creation

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of industry experience in character creation production
• Expertise in high-fidelity 3D modeling/sculpting techniques, high-poly to low-poly surface/detail baking, and PBR texture/material workflows
• Proficient in Maya, Z-Brush, and Photoshop
• Experience with physical materials and replicating them in CG
• Knowledge of UV layout and editing for highest visual payoff
• Portfolio requirements: photo-real character modeling and texturing, concept to model experience a plus
