Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As an entry-level chassis design engineer, you will be responsible for designing chassis parts and systems that meet targeted schedule and deliver outstanding performance, quality, reliability, value, and enjoyment to Honda's customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve performance, quality, cost, and delivery targets under the guidance of more senior engineers
• Think critically and apply fundamental engineering principles to complex targets
• Plan and coordinate activities with other design, test, factory, purchasing, and suppliers
• Create own schedules with milestones and trigger points, and share with related groups
• Attend meetings, lead occasionally, and give constructive thoughts along with keeping track of open items
• Review costs to ensure they meet design intentions and provide solutions if they do not
• Model parts and systems in 3D and release 2D drawings and specifications using CATIA and MS Office
• Proactively share development progress with function members and Chief to confirm proper direction, successful completion, or raise awareness of concerns
• Complete all required training and share best practices with peers
• Create value and innovation by studying technical trends and new technology, considering more efficient processes, making proposals that create new value, and confirming application of development strategies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• 0-2 years of relevant experience; co-op experience preferred
• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) and Microsoft Office
