Inspector - Tooling & Layout

Ford Motor Company is seeking an Inspector - Tooling & Layout at its New Model Programs Development Center (NMPDC) in Allen Park, MI. The successful candidate will be paid a top hourly base rate of $45.645, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums.

Job Summary: As an Inspector - Tooling & Layout, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to tooling and layout, including troubleshooting and repairing gauges, performing gauge surveillance and calibration, and conducting part measurements.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair gauges, including Zeiss CMMs, Klingelnberg gear checkers, and other measuring devices
• Perform gauge surveillance and calibration, including yearly surveillance and calibration of all gauges
• Conduct part measurements per blueprint and engineering direction
• Write programs for Zeiss & Klingelnberg equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on measurement devices
• Enter gauge repair diagnosis and solutions into GR Maximo tickets
• Access and read blueprints to determine gauge replacement parts

Qualifications:

• Completed a bona fide Toolmaker apprenticeship or 8 years of previous relevant work experience
• Knowledge and work experience in troubleshooting and repairing gauges, gauge surveillance and calibration, and part measurements
• Ability to work on any assigned schedule, change shifts, work more than 8 hours per day, and/or work overtime
• Ability to learn and follow safety rules and procedures, work in a team environment, and treat co-workers with dignity and respect
