Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Company in Raymond, Ohio. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will set part specifications that contribute to the highest quality products for our customers at the most reasonable cost. Your responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling, managing, and reporting on development schedules for assigned parts from concept to mass production
• Conceptualizing and executing designs for assigned parts, considering manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance processes
• Creating and issuing drawings, defining specifications to ensure parts meet design inputs
• Estimating costs for new designs, working with the purchasing department to negotiate with suppliers
• Verifying change points, assessing potential side impacts to assigned parts
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, developing countermeasures, and creating documentation

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 0-2 years of experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in 3D parametric modeling, drawing creation, and dimensioning
• Ability to analyze clearance, identify variation factors, and calculate tolerance stack-up
• Experience with design for assembly and manufacturing, considering processes such as casting, machining, and plastic injection molding
