Data Center Technician - Elk Grove, IL

CoreWeave is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team in Elk Grove, IL. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining data center operations, conducting hardware and network diagnostics and repairs, and performing root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability
• Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs
• Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures
• Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call
• Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware
• Assemble and install equipment
• Maintain inventory
• Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment
• Provide technical support to data center teams
• Train internal teams
• Develop documentation

Qualifications:

• Computer hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling)
• Linux operating system experience
• Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks
• Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, such as under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks
• Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as handling small hardware components and cables
• Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including a rotating on-call shift
• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on or education-based experience in computer hardware, data centers, or computer networking
• Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
• Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS experience
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field

Compensation & Benefits:

• The base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000
