Maintenance Technician I

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at High Tech High in San Marcos, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining school facilities across multiple locations in San Diego City and County.

The Maintenance Technician will perform a wide range of tasks to maintain facilities, utilities, labs, and classrooms in a use-ready, compliant state. This includes:

• Maintaining and repairing facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and landscaping
• Proactively identifying areas for improvement and taking action to address them
• Learning from and teaching others to expand the team's knowledge base
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Utilizing a work order management system to receive and document repair activities
• Setting up and tearing down for events held at school sites
• Providing prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, and testing facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
• Completing all required training to operate equipment and tools safely
• Interfacing with customers, vendors, and team members in a professional and team-oriented manner

The ideal candidate will have:

• Maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, painting, patching, landscaping, and repairing various equipment and furniture
• Knowledge of HVAC systems
• Ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Some computer knowledge
• Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) preferred

In return for your hard work, you will receive a salary of $25.59-$29 per hour, depending on experience.
