Description
Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools, serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. At Brooke, we coach and invest in our teachers so that they can help our students achieve at the highest levels and graduate from college.
As a School Adjustment Counselor or School Social Worker at Brooke East Boston, you provide direct support to individual and small groups of students in the areas of social skills, self-regulation, self-advocacy, etc and create and implement positive behavioral plans. You also collaborate with colleagues to ensure students receive the support they need and provide crisis intervention for students which may include risk assessments, safety contracts, and social service interventions.
Additionally, you meet with parents to discuss student progress and help refer parents to outside resources as needed, and you write and implement IEP goals and conduct functional behavioral assessments and classroom behavioral observations.
Salaries are competitive with local districts, ranging from $74,000-$130,000. Commensurate with experience. Licensed school adjustment counselors/ school social workers will also earn an additional $3,300 stipend for working in a high-need area.
Requirements:
- You hold a valid MA DESE School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor license, LICSW, LCSW, LSW, or LMHC.
- You have extensive knowledge of child development and age-appropriate social and emotional skills.
