Special Education Academic Coach II

High Tech High seeks a Special Education Academic Coach II to assist students with diverse needs in accessing the general education curriculum. The coach will work with individual students, facilitate small group and individual instruction, and monitor student progress.

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with individual students who have mild/moderate behavioral or academic needs
• Provide 1:1 support, including light toileting and hygiene support, attending to basic health and safety needs, and implementing behavior intervention plans
• Assist with instruction and supervision of students with learning differences
• Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation
• Establish rapport with referred students to improve behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
• Perform clerical support duties, including typing, completing documents, and record-keeping

Requirements:

• High School diploma/GED and Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework
• Experience in a school/learning environment preferred
• Experience with ABA strategies and student medical needs preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Salary: USD 25.59-29 per hour. This is an hourly position that can work variable hours up to 35 per week. This position does not qualify for benefits.
