Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Growth

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our high-impact team focused on product scalability, customer experience, and revenue growth. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead technical direction and build systems that directly impact Temporal's revenue engine and customer journey.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of business-critical systems, owning end-to-end technical design and delivery for services that power customer acquisition, onboarding/offboarding, and revenue operations.
• Drive architectural excellence, defining and evolving system architecture for high-throughput, fault-tolerant metering and billing pipelines.
• Own cross-functional execution, partnering with Finance, RevOps, and Sales to translate business needs into robust, scalable systems.
• Own the account lifecycle end-to-end, building flows that carry an account from acquisition through activation, expansion, billing, and offboarding.
• Keep revenue data coherent across the business, owning integrations and pipelines that reconcile control-plane state with CRM, support, analytics, and BI systems.
• Build customer-facing usage and cost transparency, designing APIs and metrics surfaces customers use to understand their spend.
• Ensure data integrity, reliability, and compliance, building and operating distributed data systems with strong correctness guarantees.
• Raise the engineering bar, setting quality standards through code reviews, design reviews, and operational readiness.
• Mentor and multiply impact, mentoring engineers, unblocking execution, and fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and pragmatic excellence.
• Improve developer and customer experience, identifying opportunities to streamline customer flows via automation, better tooling, and targeted platform improvements.

Requirements

• Significant experience designing and delivering production-grade backend systems with meaningful ownership over architecture and operational outcomes.
• Strong proficiency in at least one systems/backend language (Go preferred).
• Demonstrated experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Practical understanding of data pipelines and storage systems.
• Experience integrating and reconciling against third-party SaaS platforms.
• Experience with production operations.
• Ability to work effectively across functions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A "builder" mindset.

Benefits

• The estimated pay range for this role is $176,000 - $231,000.
• This role is also eligible to participate in Temporal’s equity plan.
