Copywriter, Developer

As a Copywriter, Developer at Anthropic, you will shape how the brand speaks to developers. Your goal is to create a voice that developers recognize as empathetic, direct, and genuinely useful. You will co-create this voice and bring it to various places where the brand meets developers.

Responsibilities:

• Own the brand-led developer writing for campaigns, launches, social media, and paid advertising
• Develop the developer voice and tone guide with Comms and Dev Rel
• Create brand-led developer assets for events, campaigns, and enterprise contexts
• Partner with Dev Rel as an embedded extension of their team
• Develop launch narratives and short-form copy that adapts technical material into sharp, accurate writing
• Lead copy for the developer creative pod, working with brand design and program management
• Partner with Claude Code leadership and developer marketing leadership on strategic initiatives
• Present work and rationale for voice and craft decisions to stakeholders
• Manage feedback from technical reviewers and Comms
• Track how developer-facing work lands and use insights to improve the voice, templates, and work

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience writing for developers or technical audiences
• Portfolio showing both technical and brand work
• Experience shipping work that developers have shared
• Strong point of view on how brands should talk to developers
• Ability to read technical material and explain why developers would or wouldn't trust it
• Skilled at adapting expert material into sharp short-form copy and launch narratives
• Experience working fluidly across technical content to pure brand writing
• Familiarity with Claude or other AI models in writing practice
• Comfortable embedding with technical teams and co-owning standards with other teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience working directly with Dev Rel or engineering teams
• Built or contributed to a voice and tone guide or writing templates
• Written for developer launches at a fast-moving product company
• Familiarity with the AI developer ecosystem
• Experience writing developer-credible work for enterprise or executive contexts
• Personal writing practice or public work demonstrating voice and judgment

The annual compensation range for this role is $200,000-$255,000 USD.
