The EA SPORTS NHL team, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, is seeking a UI Technical Artist. You'll play a critical role in advancing the delivery of world-class user interfaces, bridging the gap between creative vision and technical execution.
Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of frontend features at scale, ensuring user interfaces remain fluid, responsive, beautiful, and performant across all target platforms.
- Own the health of the UI asset pipeline, developing modern workflows and custom artist-facing tools that guarantee consistency, reliability, and speed for the UI team.
- Collaborate closely with UI engineers, layout designers, and art leads.
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of games production experience.
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
- Effective communication with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
- Familiarity with DCC tools like Photoshop, Cinema4D, and Figma.
- Proficiency in visual or textual scripting/programming (e.g., Shader Graphs, Blueprints, Python, C#).
- Experience with graphics debuggers/profilers (PIX, RenderDoc) and memory/runtime resource management.
- Solutions-providing, especially regarding testing and debugging technical issues.
- Experience with asset optimization challenges/techniques.
- Willingness to tackle new problems and resolve technical challenges and limitations.
- Proficiency with commercial game engines/editors like Unity/Unreal and their UI Systems is a plus.
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools to rapid prototype, accelerate execution, and automate workflows.
