Description
The Assets Protection Specialist role at Target involves protecting the company's assets, guests, and team members from theft and fraud. The successful candidate will be responsible for using surveillance and intelligence-led tactics to prevent shortage and maintain a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience
- Support total store sales, guest service, and increase profitability by preventing and resolving theft
- Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas
- Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics
- Prevent theft by gathering intelligence and communicating important issues
- Understand and appropriately use video systems to monitor theft activity
- Respond to security incidents and submit appropriate documentation
- Promote a physical security and safety culture for team members and guests
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches
- Work in a safe manner at all times and comply with all safety policies
- Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement
- Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target's interests
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
- Effective communication skills
- Work both independently and with a team
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
