Description
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering at HSBC.
In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Python, Behave (BDD), and Selenium to reduce manual regression effort and improve test coverage.
- Lead performance, scalability, and load testing initiatives using JMeter, Locust, and custom Python-based performance testing frameworks to simulate realistic user loads and identify bottlenecks early.
- Seamlessly integrate functional and performance test suites into CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, Git, and GitLab) to ensure rapid, reliable, and continuous deployments.
- Leverage modern AI tools and prompt engineering techniques to optimize test case generation, draft performance scripts, and streamline defect root-cause analysis.
- Define clear QA strategies, test governance models, and quality metrics (via Jira analytics) to provide leadership with transparent visibility into release readiness.
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and client stakeholders to align quality standards with business requirements.
To be successful, you will:
- Have 12 to 18 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, testing, and test architecture within product or financial services environments.
- Possess strong proficiency in Python, Pytest, BDD (Behave), and API/Web automation using Selenium.
- Have practical experience building and executing load tests with JMeter, Locust, and custom Python performance testing scripts.
- Have working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, GitLab) and familiarity with cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
- Be practically familiar with using AI coding assistants and prompt engineering strategies to write, refactor, and optimize test code or documentation.
- Have demonstrated experience leading QA teams, setting up testing functions from scratch, and managing stakeholder communication.
- Have knowledge of SWIFT GPI.
