Special Projects Producer

WTLV/WJXX-TV Jacksonville, a TEGNA-owned NBC/ABC affiliate, is seeking a Special Projects Producer to lead high-profile coverage and community initiatives.

The successful candidate will coordinate special coverage, including elections, major court cases, and severe weather planning, while booking engaging guests and segments for First Coast News and First Coast Living.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute station-wide special coverage
• Plan and organize community initiatives, such as 12 Who Care and Stuff the Bus
• Book compelling guests and experts for First Coast News and First Coast Living
• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and leaders
• Develop long-range coverage plans and event timelines
• Partner with newsroom leadership and producers to execute strategic coverage plans
• Research and pitch enterprise story ideas and special programming opportunities
• Write clear production plans and supporting content
• Help coordinate live event coverage across platforms
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and balance multiple priorities
• Continuously look for opportunities to showcase impactful storytelling

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in television news or a related field
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities
• Strong editorial judgment and a commitment to accurate, fair, and impactful local journalism
• Experience with ENPS, Edius, or similar newsroom systems
