HKEX is on an exciting journey of transforming its risk data landscape. As a Risk Data Engineer, you will help drive innovation with Big Data and Analytics Platforms, applying analytical and statistical techniques to drive business growth.
You will work with business users to identify value-added opportunities through data analytics, articulate business requirements, and design and implement suitable data solutions. You will analyze large volumes of diverse risk data with Big Data and Analytics Platforms using appropriate analytics, visualization, and data science techniques.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with business users to identify opportunities and implement data solutions
- Analyzing large volumes of risk data using Big Data and Analytics Platforms
- Innovating and driving new data and analytics concepts across the department
- Engaging with the Chief Data Office to design and refine the risk data framework
- Enhancing existing business use cases and optimizing workflows
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Analytics SME, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist, or similar role
- Experience in conducting data and statistical analysis, working in cross-functional teams, and developing analytics solutions on large-scale data in the financial industry/risk management
- Ability to independently influence and drive delivery, set clear expectations and roadmaps
- Hands-on experience with Python, VBA, or similar coding languages
- Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
- Understanding of statistical models and experience in BRD and FS preparation
Ideal candidates will have experience in financial markets, knowledge of financial products, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
