Software Engineer I, Discovery

The Discovery Team in App Experiences at Twitch manages features and systems to help communities form, grow, and thrive on the platform. You will work on designing, developing, launching, and operating interactive experiences, investigating performance problems, building distributed applications at scale, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, launch, and operate interactive experiences with product managers, technical leads, and other engineers
• Investigate, instrument, and solve performance problems
• Build distributed applications at scale
• Collaborate with teams to foster shared understanding of common problems and deliver solutions
• Work backwards from customer problems to drive business impact

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience developing software in a professional environment
• Prior experience building consumer-facing products at scale
• Proficient coding skills in modern languages and frameworks such as React, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice to Have:

• Experience with languages/frameworks used at Twitch: React, Typescript, Golang
• Experience with mobile development
• Experience building software and services using AWS technologies such as ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions
• Familiarity with Twitch, gaming, and/or streaming on Twitch
