Description
The Sales Manager, Ford Energy, is a dynamic, customer-facing role responsible for supporting and accelerating the growth of Ford Energy's grid-scale and commercial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business.
You will serve as the commercial execution engine for target customer segments, including major utilities, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), major integrators, and data center hyper-scalers.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development and strategic pipeline leadership, including deal origination, account management, and market intelligence
- High-impact customer engagement and advocacy, including customer relations, value proposition and technical pitching, and customer voice integration
- Deal structuring, negotiation, and bid management, including commercial support, proposal coordination, and cross-functional orchestration
- Technical and product liaison, including serving as a trusted advisor to clients on complex technical topics and collaborating with engineering teams to translate customer requirements into future product roadmap features
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of professional experience, with a strong preference for 2+ years in technical sales, commercial account management, or business development within the BESS, renewable energy, utility, or grid infrastructure sectors
- Proven experience supporting the sale of highly technical, capital-intensive products or complex industrial solutions
- Rapid technical aptitude, commercial acumen, and entrepreneurial drive
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Location and travel:
- Preferred locations: Southeast Michigan (Dearborn area), Glendale, KY, or Palo Alto, CA
- Moderate to significant domestic travel (up to 50%) to engage with customers, attend industry events, and support site visits
