5th Grade Special Education Teachers K-5 - ICT (26-27 SY)

Challenge Preparatory Charter School seeks a 5th Grade Special Education Teacher for the 26-27 school year. The teacher will deliver exceptional instruction and assess scholar growth, providing academic and cultural support to the school and team.

The school's mission is to prepare students from the greater Far Rockaway community to excel academically, demonstrate mastery of the NY State Learning Standards, and achieve their career aspirations.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students of all ability levels, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities
• Collaborate with colleagues to write unit plans and interim assessments, share teaching strategies, and analyze student data
• Develop and implement individualized growth plans for students
• Utilize technology to provide regular written updates and grades to parents and students

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
• NYS certification preferred
• Teaching experience in an urban school setting preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
