Intervention Specialist

ACCEL Schools is seeking highly qualified Intervention Specialists at West Park Bilingual Academy in Cleveland, Ohio. The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Responsibilities include:

• Working cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret students' abilities and disabilities
• Assisting in classroom intervention strategies and modifying general education curriculum as necessary
• Conducting diagnostic assessments and functional behavior assessments
• Writing and implementing behavior improvement plans
• Facilitating IEP Meetings and writing IEP goals and objectives
• Relentlessly working to meet goals related to student achievement and culture
• Utilizing research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
• Integrating culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions
• Serving as an advisor for a designated set of students
• Communicating regularly with families regarding student growth

Requirements:

• Current state license
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
• High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
