Description
We are seeking a Research Analyst to join our team at Barclays in Mumbai. As a Research Analyst, you will work closely with a senior analyst as part of the sector research team to gather, track, and analyze relevant data, update models/analysis, and present findings to internal clients.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing market, sector, corporate, and/or economic data to develop investment theses and produce high-quality research
- Creating and updating models/spreadsheets for valuation and research forecasts
- Gathering data on sector trends, pricing, promotions, and other relevant information
- Helping to build out thought processes around specific themes or future problem statements
- Compiling historical data on stocks and companies from publicly available sources and making forecasts based on the information available
- Updating and maintaining databases to track relevant financial, economic, or other indicators
You will also be expected to:
- Present research views to Barclays clients through direct, face-to-face, and virtual interactions, as well as written communications
- Engage with markets, client strategy, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of your research
- Collaborate with the supervisory analyst, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure research is produced and delivered in a compliant manner
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in:
- Assisting teams with managing stocks under their coverage
- Creating and updating financial models and spreadsheets
- Gathering and analyzing data
- Building thought processes around specific themes or problem statements
- Compiling historical data and making forecasts
- Updating and maintaining databases
Highly valued skills include:
- Strong understanding of financial terms, valuations, and balance sheets
- Proficiency in building financial models and MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the banking sector, drivers, and valuation methods
- Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
