High School World Language Teacher

The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in the increasingly diverse urban community of Lansing, MI.

We are hiring a World Language Teacher to ensure students receive world-class language instruction and experience throughout their time in the District.

The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate passion for and expertise of specific language and culture
• Provide world-class instruction
• Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in language education or related field
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with world language endorsement
• Previous successful teaching experience in urban setting

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move throughout the building and campus
• Frequent verbal communication is required
• May be required to stand or walk for extended periods
• Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students
• Regular use of computers and instructional technology
• Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
