Strategic Finance Manager

Greenlight is a family technology company on a mission to help families raise financially smart kids and navigate life together.

We are seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to collaborate with cross-functional leaders and drive outcomes across the business. In addition to traditional finance responsibilities of developing budgets, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly reports, this role will have significant involvement in new product analysis, data analytics, strategic projects, and company-wide planning.

Your day-to-day:

• Establish close cross-functional working relationships with business leaders to develop an understanding of their issues and needs; act as a liaison between these business leaders and executive management to drive attainment of business goals
• Support our product, engineering, marketing, and commercial sales teams with detailed custom financial modeling, scenario analysis, and market insights for prospective products and initiatives
• Analyze actual financial results vs budget/forecast and partner with business leaders to drive insightful and actionable decision support
• Support investor relations and corporate development activities, such as peer company benchmarking and evaluation of strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, and acquisition targets
• Own or contribute to forecasting, budgeting, resource allocation, and annual/long-range planning processes
• Support the Accounting Team in month-end and quarter-end close processes and audit support

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Experience in strategic finance, FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, management consulting, or a high-growth company (experience in FinTech is a plus)
• 5+ years directly relatable work experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets modeling and technical skills
• Excellent analytical skills and mindset
• Proven ability to influence across functions and levels
• Enthusiasm to learn and evolve skillset over time
• Strong accounting and systems knowledge (experience using financial planning software is a plus)
• Strong data visualization skills and an ability to synthesize complicated analyses in simple ways

What we're looking for in you:

• Data driven approach to analyze problems and drive actionable insights based on a strong understanding of consumer subscription or FinTech business models and the metrics that drive them (CAC, LTV, retention, cohort analysis, ARPU). Familiarity with consumer retail and hardware business models is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Not afraid to speak up when seeking answers to critical issues and comfortable presenting recommendations to executives
• Business curiosity. Desire to understand how the business works and is comfortable asking the “why” behind the drivers/numbers
• Strategic thinker with a strong ownership mentality. Ability to zoom out to the big picture, while staying detail oriented and committed to producing work at a high standard
• Creative mindset for building bespoke financial models from scratch for a diverse set of cross-functional needs
• Adaptability and flexibility. Startups require the ability to pivot when necessary
