Manager, Ocean Freight

We are seeking a Manager, Ocean Freight to join our team in Singapore.

You will manage a sizeable Ocean P&L for your district through scaling volume and increasing yield. You will drive trade strategy execution, provide market-specific intelligence, and interface with clients. Your responsibilities will also include:

• Pursuing LoB growth through collaboration with District GMs, Sales, Business Development, and Account Management
• Reviewing the Sales pipeline in Salesforce to define action plans
• Helping design products and generate customized go-to-market strategies for clients
• Joining client calls as Ocean representative
• Owning tenders and RFQs for your district to secure regional and global clients
• Interfacing with Procurement and Pricing teams to drive profitable business
• Monitoring volume performance and booking intake against commitments
• Driving all financial health levers for your district
• Identifying and driving improvement in go-to-market, operational, and financial processes
• Building and owning P&L review and participating in book of business growth rhythms
• Using data to drive decisions
• Helping drive near and long-term district forecasting
• Working across Procurement, Pricing, Allocation & Planning, and District Management teams
• Growing existing and new local carrier relationships
• Collecting local market intelligence on rates, utilization, blank sailings, and extra loader plans
• Engaging in local procurement for new growth trades
• Taking on procurement for Partner/Co-Loaders within the areas

You should have:

• 5+ years of prior Ocean Freight experience at a top freight forwarder or carrier or 5+ years of supply chain experience and a BA/BS Degree;
• Strategic vision and ground floor execution;
• Bias to Action, Process, Structure, and Data;
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
• An obsession with client happiness;
• Ability to travel regionally;
• Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it;
• The desire to lead, train, and develop up-and-coming talent
