Senior Accountant I

Electronic Arts is seeking a Senior Accountant I to join their Record to Report function in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be responsible for general ledger activities, including finance system-related projects, lease accounting, inter-company accounting, fixed assets accounting, and preparation of bank reconciliations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts, with hands-on experience as a subject matter expert in R2R on finance systems (preferably Oracle & Cadency Reconciliation)
• Experience in finance system implementation (e.g., Oracle, Leases, Reconciliations)
• Advanced knowledge in preparation and documentation of accrual and prepaid journal entries, in compliance with journal entry policy
• Dealing with balance sheet reconciliations (cash, fixed assets, inter-company, current assets, current liabilities, etc.)
• Experience in lease accounting, with implementation of ASC 842 being an added advantage
• Knowledge of prepayments and periodical amortization of prepayments
• Knowledge of fixed assets accounting cycle (capitalization, depreciation accounting, disposals, retirement, etc.)
• Analyzing the movement in GL balances and assisting in balance sheet commentaries
• Thorough knowledge of balance sheet items/income statement line items
• Adherence to internal controls and support for the review of key controls and SOX compliance
• Assisting with preparation and coordination of the audit process
• Willingness to continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to all processes impacting the GL to simplify while improving transparency
• Demonstrating a technology-enabled mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified CA/CMA with a minimum of 3+ years of working experience in relevant business experience
• Semi-qualified chartered accountant/bachelor/master degree in commerce with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of relevant business experience
• Advanced accounting and financial skills required, with hunger to apply accounting principles and practices
• Experience in USGAAP concepts is a must, with IFRS knowledge being a plus
• Hands-on experience on Oracle R12 and Cadency certification, HFM tool being an added advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible, meet deadlines, and work well in a team
