Join Duolingo's Localization team within Scaling Operations to turn complex, high-volume localization work into durable, low-touch systems that scale across our 30+ UI languages.

You will own the end-to-end programs that bring promising product ideas into long-term, scalable operations, improving launch speed, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive automation and system improvements to scale from 0-to-1 and beyond, leveraging technology to make localized content production simpler, more repeatable, and more transparent
  • Own the metrics for your vertical to improve strategy, decision-making, and prioritization
  • Cultivate relationships with key partners (marketing, product, design, engineering) to develop a localization strategy and roadmap for your area; develop and socialize best practices and ways of working
  • Establish workflows and tooling that increase localization throughput and quality across our system.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience crafting localization strategy and systems for new features and experiences, in collaboration with product, design, and engineering partners
  • A track record of building and leading localization programs in a cross-functional consumer app environment
  • Tech-savviness. You are proficient in managing and scaling workloads using technology, including AI, CMSs, and CAT tools
  • Excellent communication skills; you influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders to drive decisions
  • Comfort defining goals and metrics and translating insights into actionable engineering requirements and scalable workflow specifications.

Exceptional candidates will have:

  • Hands-on experience in localization quality frameworks and ecosystems
  • Familiarity with internationalization engineering concepts such as Unicode handling and message format in consumer apps
  • Experience supporting international product growth in emerging or high-complexity language markets.

The offered salary is dependent upon several factors, including work experience, skills, and internal peer comparisons.

Salary Range: $142,800-$193,200 USD.
