Reporter, Defense (Business & Capital)

We are hiring a reporter to be our subject matter expert on the businesses and money transforming the defense industry.

In this role, you will make an impact through the following responsibilities:

• Contribute to a bi-weekly newsletter exploring the biggest trends and news shaping the business of defense.
• Break news on venture capital, startups, mergers and acquisitions, public companies, defense procurement and the financial forces reshaping the industry.
• Help Axios readers understand how Pentagon priorities, procurement shifts and industrial policy influence investments and corporate strategy.
• Become our public authority on stage and elsewhere to help illuminate these important issues.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $100,000 - $150,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.

Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country.
