Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp, offering various services such as food delivery, financial management, and transportation.
You are a Senior Engineer who designs, builds, operates, and monitors secure, high-quality software systems. You will partner with technical and non-technical team members from product design through rollout, drive project momentum, and uplift the team through mentorship and process improvements.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:
- Design and write in RxJava and/or Kotlin.
- Collaborate with mobile and backend engineers, designers, data scientists and product managers to build features.
- Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
- Brainstorm ideas, identify problems, propose and implement solutions geared towards scale and performance.
- Take full ownership of projects that are built to meet functional and non-functional requirements of users and partners.
- Design, implement, instrument and deploy highly performant and reusable Android components for operational excellence programs.
- Lead collaboration across teams and roles, to resolve ambiguous, multi-dimensional business, legal, and product needs.
- Participate in interview loops to help Grab continue hiring top industry talent.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship and knowledge sharing to peers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience (4+ years specializing in Android) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Understanding of CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures), system internals, CI/CD pipelines, and app observability tools (crash analytics, remote debugging).
- Experience managing end-to-end features for large-scale applications with analytical, critical-thinking, and design skills.
- High accountability, clear English articulation, and familiarity with applying Generative AI tools to enhance productivity.
